Search Continues for Men Missing in Kaweah & Tule Rivers

TCSO Deputies are still looking for the man who went missing April 28th in the Kaweah River at Slick Rock and the man who went missing in the Tule River on May 13th. On 6/5/23, TCSO divers were in the Kaweah River searching for the victim’s body with help from the Sheriff’s Boating Safety Enforcement Unit. The Sheriff’s Office continues to use multiple resources to recover both victims with help from the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Unit (drones), air support, and when safe to enter the water, the TCSO Swiftwater Dive Rescue Team. At this time, rivers in Tulare County remain restricted, which means river access is closed except for commercial rafting companies. We have a record snowpack this year and it’s melting fast in the mountains, creating dangerously cold and very fast-moving water in our rivers and streams.
