Fugitive captured: Vehicle theft, Possession of stolen property, providing false information to law enforcement

On 5-2-2016, Detectives from the County Apprehension Team Tracking Criminals in Hiding (CATTCH) responded to the Poplar community in an attempt to locate and arrest Top 10 most wanted suspect Melinda Calabitin.  

Calabitin was posted on the Top 10 Most Wanted Criminals in Hiding for a violation of probation warrant in regards to charges of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and providing false information to Law Enforcement.

Through the investigation it was learned that Calabitin was possibly hiding in the Poplar area. Detectives arrived in the area and after approximately two hours of investigation, they located her vehicle and were able to take her into custody without incident.  

Calabitin was booked in to the Tulare County Adult Pre-trial Facility where she will await her hearing.
