Top 10 fugitive captured

The County Apprehension Team Tracking Criminals in Hiding found Fugitive Matthew Montemayor, 22, Feb. 8, 2019, hiding inside of his Orosi residence.

He was taken into custody without incident.

In November, CATTCH detectives added Montemayor to the Sheriff's Top 10 Most Wanted Criminals in Hiding. He was wanted for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance for sales and felon in possession of a firearm.

On Dec. 28, CATTCH detectives attempted to locate Montemayor at his residence in Orosi. He was not at home but detectives found multiple bindles of methamphetamine packaged for sales.

During the investigation, Montemayor admitted to the possession of the controlled substance for sales and after a search by detectives, additional ammunition was found.

Montemayor was booked at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility for his warrants and the fresh charges.
