California Senate Bill 1050 (SB 1050) was a law that changed the form of statutory certificates of acknowledgment, jurat and proof of execution. It was signed into law on August 15, 2014, and went into effect on January 1, 2015. The law's purpose was to reduce fraud by adding a consumer disclosure to each certificate.
