Tulare County's Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan (CARP) is a multifaceted approached to planning that is meant to identify climate hazards, implement solutions, and motivate residents and businesses in the face of climate change. As defined by the state of California, adaptation is described as the, "adjustment in natural or human systems to a new or changing environment." Alongside this, resilience is defined as, "the capacity of any entity (individuals, communities, organizations, or a natural system) to prepare for disruptions, to recover from shocks and stresses, and to adapt and grow from a disruptive experience."
Stakeholders involved in this plan are attending monthly meetings to review and discuss the Draft CARP and adaptation strategies. The next stakeholder meeting is scheduled for May 1, 2025.
The draft documents have not been adopted and are subject to change as reviews are completed and comments are received.
