Celebrating 20+ Years of Service - Jason Fite

This year, the County of Tulare proudly celebrates Jason Fite’s 20th work anniversary, honoring two decades of dedicated public service, personal growth, and resilience. Jason, now an Engineering Technician IV at the RMA, has built a remarkable career defined by perseverance, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to serving his community.

Jason's journey with the County began in May 2003, not as part of a long-term plan, but through an unexpected life change. After 14 years of working on his family's farm, Jason and his family relocated to Tulare.

A family friend introduced him to an Extra Help opportunity in the Tulare County Sign Shop. He was hired as a Sign Maintenance Worker I, marking the beginning of a career he never anticipated—but one that would become deeply meaningful.

Jason transitioned to a full-time position in September 2004, quickly showing promise and drive. He was promoted to Sign Maintenance Worker II in 2006, then made a pivotal move to the County Surveyor’s Office in 2007 as an Engineering Aid I, rising to Engineering Aid II later that same year. His pursuit of growth continued with roles as Engineering Technician I in 2010, Engineering Technician II in 2011, and Engineering Technician III in 2016. Most recently, in February 2025, he was promoted to Engineering Technician IV—a testament to his ongoing dedication and professional development.

To those just starting their careers in public service, Jason offers advice. “Stay positive and enjoy each day. I know we work in a high-stress environment at times, but the work you do is important to those around you and to all who live in and visit Tulare County,” Jason said.
