Come out and support the Law Enforcement Torch Run MONDAY as the Tulare County Sheriff’s Team accompanies the Special Olympics Torch, “The Flame of Hope,” through Visalia.
Beginning at 10:50 a.m., the TCSO team and the Visalia CHP team will run together the 2.5-miles from Headquarters, at 833 S. Akers St., east on Tulare Avenue, to the College of the Sequoias Baseball Stadium parking lot.
We are expecting two dozen runners between the two teams.
Special Olympics enriches the lives of more than 26,218 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their communities in Northern California through sports, education, and athlete health.
Last year’s summer Games were cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and this year’s Summer Games will be virtual in five sports from June 21-July 2. Although Special Olympians are not running in the Torch Run this year, we hope they will cheer us on from the sidelines.
